No one working full-time should live in poverty. The current federal minimum wage is a disgrace, and I will fight to raise it to $16/hour as a stepping stone toward a true livable wage.

Indexing the minimum wage to inflation so workers don’t fall behind.
Ensuring tipped workers receive full wages rather than relying on unpredictable tips, and low federal wages.
Ending loopholes that allow corporations to pay disabled workers sub-minimum wages.

Strengthening Workers’ Rights & Protections

Workers are the backbone of our economy, yet corporations continue to exploit and underpay them. I will fight for:

Stronger labor union protections to give workers more power in negotiations.
Strict enforcement against wage theft and penalties for employers who steal from their workers.
Fair scheduling laws that ensure predictable work hours and prevent on-call exploitation.

Paid Family & Parental Leave

The U.S. is one of the only developed nations that does not guarantee paid parental leave. We need a federal paid leave program that ensures:

At least 12 weeks of paid family leave for all workers.
A fair wage replacement rate, with larger employers funding subsidies to help small businesses afford it.
Protections against retaliation for taking leave.

Affordable Housing for Everyone

The housing crisis is making it impossible for working families to afford a home. I will support:

Rent control measures to prevent price gouging and corporate landlords from exploiting tenants.
Federal incentives for low-income housing development and cooperative housing initiatives.
Expanded protections against predatory eviction practices.

Supporting Small Businesses & Entrepreneurs

Big corporations get billions in tax breaks while small businesses struggle. I will fight to:

Provide grants and low-interest loans to small businesses and startups.
End corporate monopolies that crush local businesses and stifle competition.
Reduce unnecessary bureaucratic barriers for entrepreneurs looking to start a business.

Tax Fairness: Making the Rich Pay Their Fair Share

Corporations and billionaires rig the tax system to avoid paying their fair share, leaving working families to pick up the bill. My plan includes:

Closing corporate tax loopholes that allow companies to hide profits offshore.
Implementing a wealth tax on the ultra-rich to ensure billionaires contribute to society.
Abolishing the income limit for contributions to Social Security.

Universal Healthcare: Supporting Senator Sanders’ Medicare-for-All Plan

Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. I strongly support Senator Bernie Sanders’ Medicare-for-All plan, which will:

Ensure every American has access to quality healthcare, regardless of employment status.
Eliminate medical bankruptcies caused by predatory insurance companies.
Lower prescription drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate costs.
Expand coverage for mental health, dental, and vision care.
